The word Rily is registered and trademarked by Rily Enterprises.
Now that we have that legal stuff out of the way, let me tell you how Gil Knapton, the founder of Rily Enterprises conceptualized Rily – Remember I Love You.
In the mid 1970's, Gil was a small business owner who was having good success in his business and his personal life. He was looking for that special gift to give to his girlfriend.
Now this was not just any girlfriend. This relationship was special, the kind that would lead to marriage as far as Gil was concerned.
This gift Gil was looking for would serve as a prelude to his popping the “will you marry me” question.
At a small jewelry store, he found a beautiful charm bracelet that had little silver hearts dangling from the Sterling Silver chain. He wanted to have “Remember I Love You” engraved on the hearts, but the Jeweler said that the hearts were not big enough.
Gil really loved that bracelet, and knew that it had to have something engraved to make it even more special.
So, he asked the Jeweler to put an “R” on one heart, then an “I”, then “L”, and finally a “Y”. He had RILY engraved on this bracelet, over 30 years ago.
Of course, the bracelet was a big hit, and she loves the fact that RILY always reminds her of Gil.
The years since have brought Gil to retirement, and always being an entrepreneur, he has given the 'Remember I Love You' phrase a new life in his little Rily plush key chains.
Now you can make your someone special smile every time they see Rily .
